USA TODAY wants to know what is the best High School Football Rivalry in the Country. Vermont has made the cut as the annual contest between St. Johnsbury and Lyndon Institute is one of the candidates that has reached the national final four.
These teams have met 107 times since 1894 in a matchup known simply as "The Game." St. Johnsbury holds a 58-43-6 advantage in the series. "The Game" is going up against rivalry games from Alabama, Arizona and Missouri for the title of best in the land.
The final round voting ends at 11 a.m. EST on December, 19th. The national winner will receive $10,000 - to be split evenly between the two schools. Fans are allowed to vote as often as they want. In the sectional round, The Game received the most votes of any game in the country, more than 309,000.
They may be bitter rivals, but the communities on St. Johnsbury and Lyndon are teaming up for one goal...to be considered the best.
