EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Police are trying to figure out if a fight between a mother and son was the reason for a house fire in East Montpelier.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the first floor of the home on County Road. But the house did sustain significant damage. Police say a 51-year-old woman was home at the time with her 32-year-old son, and they had been fighting just before the fire started.
Police think one of them may have intentionally started the blaze.
