BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Vermont ranks 8th as having the most student debt among states in the U.S., with an average of $28,000 in student debt as a 2011 graduate. Earlier this year, the Vermont State Employees Credit Union developed a loan repayment program to help lift the burden of student debt. VSECU wanted to award individuals who have already proven their commitment to their education. This year the credit union awarded $15,000 for three Vermonters.
Yvonne Garand is the vice president of VSECU, and Agatha Kessler received one of the program's awards this year. Watch the video for more.
