WATERBURY, Vt. -
A hiker was rescued from Mount Hunger late Wednesday night.
Waterbury Backcountry Rescue Team and Stowe Mountain Rescue responded to a call from a group of hikers on Mount Hunger. A 22-year-old hiker fell near the summit and suffered a painful shoulder injury. The injury and icy trail conditions slowed the group's progress until it was too dark to continue. Rescue teams helped the injured hiker down to the trailhead where he was taken by ambulance to Central Vermont Hospital.
