SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Crews responding to a fire in South Burlington Thursday night found a woman dead inside her home at 154 Catkin Drive, but police have yet to determine if the fire killed her.
Police say Sally Walker, 58, is dead, and a fire caused extensive smoke damage to the first floor of the home.
A neighbor called fire crews after hearing the fire detector. No neighboring homes were damaged in the fire.
Police say it's not considered suspicious at this time. The fire was small and contained, and fire crews were able to put it out in a matter of minutes.
Both the cause of Walker's death and the cause of the fire are under investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
