CANAAN, N.H. -

Two men are in the hospital after a late-night crash that police say was caused by drunk driving.

Police say Russell Christian, 40, of Caanan, N.H., lost control of his car on Route 118 and hit a telephone pole, rolling the car multiple times. His passenger, Steven Cotting, 32, of Orange, was thrown from the vehicle.

Christian was airlifted with severe injuries, and Cotting was also taken to the hospital.

Police say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, and neither man was wearing a seatbelt.
