BEEKMANTOWN, N.Y. -
A lost hiker was found Friday morning in Beekmantown after spending two nights outside.
New York State Park Police say Sarah Lepak, 29, of Saranac Lake, went hiking Wednesday at Point Au Roche state park. Authorities say she wandered off the train and fell, hurting her legs. Other hikers found her and called 911. First responders used their cold water rescue boat to get to her.
"So, she must have gotten off the trail somehow and gotten over the embankment and wasn't able to get back up. She may have had a leg injury or something of that nature," said Eric Day of Clinton County Emergency Services.
Lepak is in critical condition at CVPH. Park police urge everyone who goes for a hike to tell someone where they are going and when they plan to return.
