Police say a copper thief nearly blew up a house in New Hampshire.
Firefighters in Laconia New Hampshire say an unoccupied house was very close to exploding-- after thieves cut out copper piping in the basement.
Fire Fighters say the copper pipes were cut with either a bolt cutter or pruning shears. Investigators said whoever stole the copper-- crimped the pipe-- but not enough to stop gas from leaking. There have been a rash of copper thefts across our region.
