No tolls on NY Thruway

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -

Good news for business in the North Country: Tolls will not be going up on the New York State Thruway after all.

The state Thruway Authority board had plans for a 45 percent increase in truck tolls. Businesses worried that trucks would travel less with the extra costs.

But now the authority has backed off the plan and will focus on cost-cutting steps instead.
