LANCASTER, N.H. (AP) - It's not officially winter, yet ski resorts and snowmobile trails in northern New Hampshire have received an early Christmas present of fresh snow this week, with more expected.
In Pittsburg, more than a foot of snow has fallen and groomers have been out packing down snowmobile trails. New Hampshire Grand, an organization that promotes northern New Hampshire activities, says more than 85 percent of the snowmobile trails opened Wednesday.
In Pinkham Notch, the Wildcat Mountain ski area reports 2 feet of snow since Monday.
The forecast calls for more snow in the region overnight through Friday, with heavy accumulations possible.
