Part-time UVM faculty ratify contract

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Part-time faculty members at the University of Vermont have ratified a new union deal.

The new contract provides salary increases of 1.8 percent for the coming semester plus 2 percent for the following year. The union says the deal also gives the part-time teachers significant gains in the areas of promotion eligibility, benefits and professional development.
