PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -
Want a getaway to Sin City? You can now catch a direct flight from Plattsburgh.
Allegiant is now offering nonstop flights to Las Vegas twice a week. More than 200 passengers took the maiden flight Thursday. They were greeted in style by Las Vegas show girls.
Fares as low as $84 are drawing air travelers, especially Canadians, who say it can cost hundreds more to fly out of Montreal.
"It's fantastic to have a nonstop," said Elizabeth Seguin of Montreal. "This is why actually we decided to fly out of Plattsburgh."
"Well, we want to go to Vegas and have fun. And it's a little bit cheaper coming to this airport than Montreal, that's for sure," said Suzanne Bourque of Montreal.
The airline is also planning to add flights from Plattsburgh to Fort Myers in February.
