MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Vermonters will gather Friday afternoon in the state capital to remember the shooting victims of Newtown, Conn.
Twenty-six people, mostly young children, were killed a week ago in a school shooting there. A candlelight vigil will be held at 4:30 p.m. on the Vt. Statehouse steps and people are asked to bring candles.
Gov. Peter Shumlin has also called for a moment of silence Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. to remember the victims.
