ST. ALBANS TOWN, Vt. -
Multiple crews responded to a fire at a home in St. Albans town Saturday morning.
Fire fighters responded to the Lower Newton Road around 9am. The fire started on the porch and spread into the home. However-- most the damage is confined to the porch area. A man living in the home had just left when the fire was called in. Investigators say at this time, the fire looks to be an accident.
St. Albans Town Fire Chief Harold Cross said Saturday, "We are just doing salvage and overhall, we got a company coming in that will close it up and put heat into it. the person that was renting was just starting to move in, luckily he didn't have all his stuff moved in yet."
No one was injured. The cause is still under investigation.
