Quechee covered bridge to open this weekend

QUECHEE, Vt. -

Quechee's covered bridge will be open to drivers this weekend for the first time since Tropical Storm Irene tore through the state 16 months ago.

This historic bridge was destroyed during the storm. Construction began this summer.

Town officials say contractors expect to have the span back open again by this weekend.

But there is still work left, so the bridge will remain a construction site.
