State Police in New Hampshire say they've stopped nearly 4,000 cars in just the past two weekends as part of their efforts to curb highway crashes.
State police wrote more than 800 tickets and gave about 2,500 warning in the two weekends leading up to Christmas.
The beefed-up traffic patrols come at the peak of the busiest travel season in a particularly deadly year. So far 113 people have died on New Hampshire roads.
State Police say the crackdown will continue through the New Year's holiday weekend.
