Rescuers have found two hikers from Quebec lost on Mount Lafayette.
New Hampshire conservation officers said the two were found after 1 p.m. Monday and were expected to be out of the woods about 2:30 p.m, according to WMUR-TV.
Officials say an emergency locator beacon carried by one of the hikers was activated Sunday night. They say the two men were experienced, prepared hikers but the wind and snow made it difficult to navigate their way off the mountain.
The men said they woke each other up throughout the night to make sure they didn't become hypothermic. A helicopter spotted an orange thermal blanket they were carrying and rescue teams helped them hike out Monday afternoon.
