Pot divides Rutland City and Town

RUTLAND, Vt. -

Rutland Town and Rutland City are divided over marijuana dispensaries.

The Rutland Town select board says it will allow a medical marijuana dispensary in town, though no one has applied for a permit to open one.

That's a different tact than neighboring Rutland City is taking. In October, the board of aldermen there unanimously approved a ban on pot dispensaries citing concerns about adding to the city's drug crime problem.
