BURLINGTON, Vt. -
The year 2012 is in the books, and it's now in the record books when it comes to temperature.
The National Weather Service says last year was the warmest ever on record for Burlington.
Numbers show the yearly mean temperature for 2012 was 50 degrees, beating the previous record of 48.4 degrees set back in 1998.
Records have been kept for nearly since the late 1800s, and four of the top five warmest years in Burlington have all been since 1998.
