HUDSON FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say an ex-convict's burglary spree in three upstate New York counties netted valuables that included a bag of silver weighing about 100 pounds and tens of thousands of pieces of jewelry.

Police in Washington County held a news conference Wednesday to release more details about last month's arrest of 39-year-old John W. Suddard II of Fort Edward. Suddard has had been charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

Police say stolen items filling 31 duffel bags have been recovered from his home and a shed in Granville. They say he committed numerous burglaries that began after his release from prison in 2007.

Suddard is being held at the Albany County Jail without bail.

Anyone who believes their property is among the stolen items should contact Hudson Falls Police Detective Scott Gillis at 518-747-0273.
