SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
Make A Wish has a wish of its own. The nonprofit's Vermont chapter wants your travel miles.
The group grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions, and the majority of those wish requests require travel.
At the Burlington International Airport Thursday, Make A Wish announced its goal of raising a million free miles through donations this month.
"It's very simple, if you go to WishesInFlightVt.org, that will take you to a place where you fill out a form with your frequent flyer number, the airline, the number of miles you want to donate and you click a button and all of the back end of it is handled for us and the miles come back to our miles bank," explained Leslie Williams of Make A Wish.
Last year marked the Vermont organization's largest wish-granting year with 52 wishes granted. Williams says all of the funds raised in Vermont stay in Vermont.
