FAIRLEE, Vt. -
Vermont game wardens say they've
busted a large, illegal hunting operation.
Two men from Fairlee were arrested for
running what the state calls a captive hunting facility. Wardens say a range of
exotic animals, including buffalo, boar, elk and goats, were kept in a 129-acre
area. Visitors were charged up to $6,000 to hunt animals inside the facility.
The state used an undercover sting to
bust the operation and arrested Steven Hill, 51, and Chiaki Ito, 21. They both
face seven counts of operating an unlicensed captive hunting facility. They face $1,000 fines for each count and loss of their
hunting licenses for up to three years.
