Vt. ranks near top for health care reform funding

Posted: Updated:

When it comes to federal dollars for health care reform, Vermont ranks near the top of the list.

Analysis done by the Associated Press indicates the Green Mountain State will receive nearly $160 million in total to set up its health insurance exchange.

California is set to receive more than $230 million, and New York about $180.

For a little perspective Vermont's population would only qualify as California's fifth biggest city.

State spokespeople credit an early start and aggressive grant-writing for the disproportionately large awards.
