RAY BROOK, N.Y. -
A plan to make it easier to clear-cut in the Adirondacks has stalled.
The Adirondack Park Agency has postponed action on a proposal to make it easier to cut down trees in the 6 million acre park. The agency has been considering a simplified approval process for some landowners.
Right now, landowners who want to cut more than 25 acres need to get a permit. But, opponents say the proposal would be a radical change from current rules.
The agency is reviewing extensive comments it has received on the issue.
