A former dorm at the Balsams Grand Resort in Dixville Notch was set on fire for a controlled burn. The building used to house former employees.
New owners are planning to expand the resort and add a convention center. Fire crews from Colebrook and Pittsburg, N.H., as well as Beecher Falls, Vermont took part in the controlled burn.
The fire did not impact other structures on the property.
