Police are hunting for an armed robber this morning who tried to hold up a Colchester convenience store overnight.
Police say just before 2 a.m., a man walked into the Champlain Farms on Roosevelt Highway, brandished a large knife and demanded money.
The clerk picked up the phone to call police and the man fled without any money, leaving in a waiting vehicle that was parked at an adjacent business.
He's described as a white man in his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall, with a stocky build -- and was wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt, grey baggy sweatpants, and had a light-colored bandana covering his face.
