West Topsham man sentenced for child porn

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A West Topsham man will spend more than five years in jail for child porn.

Investigators say 39-year-old Foster Phelps had more than a thousand cds with images of child porn. Phelps faced up to life in prison, but Judge William Sessions decided on the shorter sentence based on his recent efforts to address his alcoholism.
     
Phelps will also serve 5 years of supervised release after his prison term.
