MIDDLESEX, Vt. -
A commuter says she's lucky to be alive after an accident between a train and her SUV this morning in Middlesex.
She says she accidentally hit the accelerator at about 9:30 a.m. while approaching a railroad crossing on Route 2, just north of the Montpelier junction train station.
The vehicle collided with the side of a passing southbound Amtrak train traveling at about 60 mph.
The car's sole occupant was not injured in the crash and neither was anyone on board the train.
The accident remains under investigation and more information is expected to be released later in the day.
