BARNARD, Vt. -
The U.S. Postal Service is looking to start a conversation about its future in Vermont.
During local meetings residents can weigh in on four options for the future of their local post office, including: keeping offices open with reduced hours, closing the offices and having rural delivery, having post office boxes replace an actual office or establishing one village post office per community.
At a recent meeting in Barnard, people opted for minimal hours.
Spokesman Tom Rizzo says many of Vermont's 141 post offices will see their hours cut in half.
