WASHINGTON -
Vermont will have to wait longer to find out if the F-35 is coming here.
The Vermont Air National Guard is in the running to get the new fighter jet. The Air Force was supposed to make a decision this month, but Wednesday announced a new environmental impact statement will not be finished until spring.
The guard desperately wants the F-35, saying it cannot thrive here without the plane of the future.
Opponents say the F-35 is too loud and will erode quality of life for people who live in the flight path and ruin their property values.
