MONTPELIER, Vt. -
A former governor's records are being made public.
Ten years after Governor Howard Dean left office, his records from his time in the state's top office are being unsealed.
About 90 boxes will now be available for public inspections.
Dean had invoked the Archive Act, which seals records for 10 years.
A conservative watchdog group sued in 2005 to get access to the records, but the Vt. Supreme Court denied the request.
The secretary of state's office spent four months cataloging the documents in preparation for the release. Jim Condos says the documents cover the hot topics of the day, like Act 60, civil unions and the state's efforts to emerge from a recession.
