BERLIN, Vt. -
Police say a Northfield Falls father was driving dangerously with his 2-year-old daughter in the car.
Police say Jesse Hodgdon, 39, was tailgating a car on Route 12 near Berlin and swerved around it, missing the car by only inches.
Then witnesses say he passed another car and nearly collided head-on with another.
The Times Argus says police caught up with Hodgdon at a store parking lot, where they found his daughter alone inside the locked turned-off car in near-freezing temps.
Hodgdon pleaded not guilty to cruelty to a child and other charges.
