While most Northern New Hampshire towns are against the Northern Pass project, Franklin officials want to hire a lobbyist to support the proposal.
The Union Leader reports the $1.2 billion project that would deliver electricity from Hydropower in Quebec through New Hampshire could be a windfall for Franklin, bringing in more than $4 million in property taxes.
The city has offered to pay $1,000 for a lobbyist this legislative session and says it has had several responses.
