
Chef Michael Kloeti from Michael's on the Hill in Waterbury Center joins us this morning with a warm drink recipe for winter.
Classic Swiss Gluhwein
Yield 4 servings
Ingredients:
4 each oranges, sliced into rounds
12 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
½ Cup + 2 tablespoons white sugar
1 bottle of red wine
Method -Put everything into a pot and warm the mixture slowly, bringing it just to a simmer.
-Don't boil.
-Remove from the heat and allow the flavors to steep in the wine for a few hours.
-Strain (may be kept refrigerated for several weeks) -Reheat gently when you are ready to serve. -Pour into mugs or heat safe glasses and drop in a slice of orange if desired.
