Vermont's 2012 hunting season saw a safety first, with no hunting-related shootings.
Fish and Wildlife officials say that makes 2012 the safest year in hunting in the state. Two years ago was the previously lowest year, with only two minor incidents.
The department's hunting education coordinator says this year's record "defies the common misperception that hunting is dangerous."
