NH bill addresses social media, death

Posted: Updated:

When someone dies, who gets control of their Facebook page and email accounts? In today's digital age, it's a question that laws still don't directly address.

New Hampshire's House is considering giving control over social media accounts to the executor of the person's estate after the account holder dies.

The House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing today on the proposed legislation.

The measure would grant the estate manager control over social networking websites, blogs and email accounts.
