An annual Vermont film festival is celebrating a milestone.
The Mountaintop film festival has reached its tenth year. The films in the week-long festival range in topic from the war on drugs to climate change but all connect to a central theme.
The film festival's organizer Claudia Becker says it's no coincidence the dates fall on Martin Luther King Junior Day every year.
"It's a celebration of his birthday and civil and human rights around the world," she says.
The festival's "MountainTop" name refers to Dr. King's famous 1968 speech.
The festival takes place at the Big Picture Theatre in Waitsfield. There are 13 featured films. It kicks-off on Friday night and runs through Jan. 24.
