Fair Haven mother charged with child cruelty

FAIR HAVEN, Vt. -

A Fair Haven woman is facing child cruelty charges after police say they found her huffing chemicals in her home with her children present.

Officers were doing a welfare check at the home of 22-year-old Keri Anne Colvin when they saw a young child through the window pulling food out of the refrigerator. Police then found Colvin in a bedroom, incoherent from huffing an aerosol can.

Colvin was cited for cruelty and abandonment. Her children were turned over to a relative.
