The Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum is encouraging you to pull out your retro gear and hit the snow.
the Retro Gear Snow Tour kicked off last weekend and is making stops across the state, bringing out Nordic skiers and all their throwback gear and getting out to enjoy the history of the sport.
"It's about tracking the old gear and saying, 'Wow this stuff is old -- I'm so glad I have the new stuff.' But with Nordic skiing the changes are less apparent. People still get out those old wooden skis because they still get around great!" says Meredith Scott with the Vermont Ski Museum.
They say the main goal is to encourage skiers to get out and try a new resort destination this winter.
