Rep. Owens named to influential subcommittees

WASHINGTON, D.C. -

New York Congressman Bill Owens' new role on the Congress Appropriations Committee has also landed him on two influential subcommittees.

He will serve on the Homeland Security Subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over customs and border control, and the Defense Subcommittee, which controls military spending.
