CHAZY, N.Y. -
A New York family is homeless after fire gutted their garage and home overnight.
Police say the fire started in the two-story garage on Bell Road in Chazy before spreading to the house. The occupants were woken by the smoke and got out safely, but three pets were killed.
Multiple departments responded. Firefighters say the garage is a total loss. The cause is still under investigation.
