NEWPORT, Vt. -

Vermont's mental health commissioner will have the final say over what happens to Roger Pion, the so-called cruiser crusher.

In January, Pion was found incompetent to stand trial.

Wednesday, a Newport judge issued an order of hospitalization.

Pion's lawyer says the 34-year-old man will remain committed at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington until he is transitioned to a halfway house.
