Judge considers whether Sorrell violated campaign law

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A judge is considering whether Vt. Attorney General Bill Sorrell violated campaign law.

Sorrell is friends with former Governor Howard Dean. Dean endorsed Sorrell in his re-election bid and even appeared in pro-Sorrell ads paid for by a super PAC.

Sorrell's Republican challenger Jack McMullen is suing. In court Wednesday, he argued Sorrell's endorsement by Dean was proof the Sorrell campaign was coordinating with the super PAC. Sorrell's counsel argued an endorsement is not the same as collusion.
