SOUTH HERO, Vt. -
A South Hero couple is in custody, charged with stealing cars from Burlington.
State police say they noticed a stolen car traveling north on Interstate 89 in Colchester early Thursday morning and tried to stop the car on Route 2 in South Hero.
The car pulled over but then sped off. After a short pursuit, police say the driver and passenger ran away.
During the search, police pulled over a second stolen car and arrested its driver, 31-year-old Jeannie Morrill.
Police tracked the driver of the first vehicle, 34-year-old Wayne Morrill, to his home on Pearl Street. He was also arrested and charged.
