Snow sculptors prepare to defend title

Posted: Updated:

The Vermont Snow Scultpors Team is preparing to defend their national title in Wisconsin.

The team began competing on a national level in 1999 and they have continued to stun judges with their crafty work sculpted completely out of snow and ice.

The final pieces are breathtaking and the competition is fierce -- with state champions from across the country facing off in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin next weekend.

And they gave us some hints on what they have planned for the competition.

"It is intricate and carved out -- a lot like what we did last year," says snow sculptor Michael Nedell.

The group is holding a silent acution and fundraiser to help them pay their way to the event. They say the winners don't get any prize money, just bragging rights for next year.
