College Hockey Friday Night

Posted: Updated:

BURLINGTON, Vt.-- Conor Sheary's power play goal five and a half minutes into the third period stood as the game-winner as UMass Amherst held on for a 3-1 Hockey East victory over Vermont on Friday night at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Catamounts fall to 6-13-4 (3-9-4 HEA) with the loss, while the Minutemen improve to 9-11-2 (6-8-1 HEA).

HANOVER, Nh.-- Holding a one-goal lead midway through the third period wasn't enough for the 12th-ranked Dartmouth men's hockey team Friday night at Thompson Arena.  St. Lawrence's top line of Greg Carey, Kyle Flanagan and Jeremy Wick scored three times in the final frame to stun the Big Green, handing them their first ECAC Hockey home loss of 2012-13 and just the second overall in 10 games (8-2-0) played in Hanover.  Despite a late push with two extra players in the waning minutes, the Green (10-7-2, 6-5-1 ECAC) were unable to find the equalizer, falling to the Saints, 4-2

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.-- A three-goal second period sealed the deal as the Plattsburgh State men's hockey team skated to a 4-1 win over the Potsdam Bears Friday night on Military Appreciation Night at the Stafford Ice Arena.  Dillan Fox scored twice for the Cardinals who improve to 13-5-1 overall and 8-1-1 in the SUNYAC.

BURLINGTON, Vt.-- Freshman forward Jordan Juron scored two goals and an assist to lead No. 5 Boston University past Vermont 5-2 and extend the Terriers unbeaten streak to 11 games Friday afternoon at Gutterson Fieldhouse.
