Pedestrian struck in North Bennington

NORTH BENNINGTON, Vt. -

A 79-year-old from North Bennington is dead after being hit by a car.

Police say Henry Chalifoux was walking across the North Bennington road Saturday morning when he was struck. The driver of the car, 86-year-old Georgianna Carter, was traveling west at the time. Police have not said who was at fault. Chalifoux was pronounced dead at the hospital. The crash is still being investigated and Bennington police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact them.
