BURLINGTON, Vt. – Kyle Reynolds scored a pair of first period goals and Brody Hoffman stopped 36 shots as Vermont collected a 3-2 Hockey East victory over Massachusetts on Saturday night at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The Catamounts snap their five-game losing streak and move to 7-13-4 (4-9-4 HEA), while the Minutemen fall to 9-12-2 (6-9-1 HEA).

Vermont took the lead into the first intermission and netted an insurance tally on the power play near the end of the middle frame. Robert Polesello slid a pass to Jacob Fallon in the right slot, and Fallon quickly wristed a shot past Mastalerz's blocker as the Cats took a 3-0 advantage. Nick Luukko had the second assist at 14:39.

UVM finished the night 1-4 on the power play and travels to Conte Forum next Friday (Feb. 1) to face third-ranked Boston College at 7 p.m.

HENNIKER N.H – Junior forward Tori Charron (Tecumseh, Ontario) recorded a natural hat trick to lead the No. 5-ranked Norwich University women's ice hockey team to a 5-2 victory over New England College on Friday afternoon at the Lee Clement Arena in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East action.

After battling to a 1-1 tie after 20 minutes, senior co-captain Stephanie Invernizzi (Hingham, Mass.) scored 5:43 into the second stanza to give Norwich the lead for good. From there it was the Charron show as the Elmira College transfer scored her team-leading 16th, 17th, and 18th goals of the season to put the game away for good.

Charron capped the natural hat trick at the 9:32 mark of the third period with an unassisted tally to give Norwich a 5-1 lead.

Norwich outshot NEC 34-17 and went 1-for-2 on the power play while NEC was 0-for-1.

Junior goalie Kelly Fisk (Hannibal, N.Y.) improved to 4-1-1 on the year after turning aside 16 shots to pick up the victory. Lauren Hopps made 29 saves for NEC in the loss to drop to 4-6-4.

Norwich extended its season-high winning streak to seven straight games and the Cadets continue their road trip tomorrow at Castleton when they take on the Spartans at 3 p.m. in another ECAC East contest.
