Northeast Kingdom scenic byway designated

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. -

The Northeast Kingdom is famous for its scenics -- and now, it's official.

The Northeast Kingdom now has a designated scenic byway. State officials approved the 51-mile Northeast Kingdom Byway Main Corridor.

It starts in St. Johnsbury and extends north, ending in Newport. Officials hope to use the byway as a way to promote tourism in the Kingdom.
