BURLINGTON, Vt. -

An Island Pond man will spend eight years in federal prison for running a methamphetamine lab in his home.

Police raided Carl Coker's home in November 2011. Police say Coker admitted cooking meth up to 15 times over an eight-month period. Prosecutors say he enlisted a dozen other Northeast Kingdom residents in helping to manufacture and distribute the drugs. All of them have pleaded guilty to federal drug charges.
